# Invite a team member > Send an invitation to a teammate with a role, then resend or cancel it while it is pending. To add a teammate to your organization, you send them an invitation by email. They follow the link, create their account and join with the role you chose. > **Note:** Only an **Admin** sees the **Team** section in **Settings**, so only an Admin can invite. Team members are a Gold plan feature, with up to 5 seats including you. On Silver the invite button is greyed out. ## Send an invitation 1. **Open the Team section** In the sidebar, select **Settings**. Settings is one long page, so select **Team** in the list on the page to jump to it. 2. **Check your seats** **Team Seats** shows how many seats you use, for example "2 of 5 seats used". A pending invitation holds a seat until it is accepted, revoked or expires. 3. **Open the invite form** Select **Invite Member**. The **Invite Team Member** dialog opens. 4. **Enter their email** Enter their address in **Email Address**. 5. **Choose a role** Open **Role** and choose **User - Can edit, can't approve**, **Power User - Create & Submit** or **Admin - Full Access**. The dialog describes the role you pick. **User - Can edit, can't approve** is selected by default. For the full comparison, see [Roles explained](https://docs.reinvestorhub.ai/reference/team-and-roles/roles-explained/). 6. **Send** Select **Send Invitation**. ![The Invite Team Member dialog with an email entered, the User role chosen, the role description and the seats available notice](https://docs.reinvestorhub.ai/images/work-with-your-team/invite-team-member-dialog.png) *Choose a role and check the seats notice before you send.* The dialog also shows how many seats are available and that invitations expire after 7 days. > **What you should see:** the message "Invitation sent to" followed by their email address. The invitation appears under **Pending Invitations**, and your used seats go up by one. ## What your teammate receives They get an email with a link to the invitation. The invitation shows the organization name and the role you gave them, and they create their account from it. Point them to [Accept a team invitation](https://docs.reinvestorhub.ai/guides/getting-started/accept-a-team-invitation/) if they are unsure. ## Resend or cancel a pending invitation **Pending Invitations** lists each invitation with its **Email**, **Role**, **Invited By**, **Sent** date and **Expires** date. A date within the next day shows in amber with a clock. Two icon buttons sit at the end of each row. - **Resend**, the circular arrows icon, sends the email again. You see "Invitation email resent successfully". - **Revoke**, the circled X icon, cancels the invitation. A dialog titled **Revoke Invitation?** asks you to confirm. Select **Revoke Invitation** to continue, or **Cancel** to keep it. You see "Invitation revoked successfully", and the seat is free again. > **Warning:** Revoking cannot be undone. The person needs a new invitation to join. ## If something goes wrong - **Invite Member is greyed out.** You are on Silver, or every seat is used. On Silver the page says "Team invitations require Gold tier or above. Upgrade to invite team members." When seats are full it says "Seat limit reached. Revoke pending invitations or upgrade to add more members." - **You do not see the Team section.** Only Admins see it. - **Your teammate says the invitation expired.** Send them a new invitation. If the old one still shows under **Pending Invitations**, revoke it first so it does not hold a seat. - **An error message appears when you send.** The dialog shows the reason, or "Failed to send invitation".
