Read a property detail page

Selecting a property in Deal Search, whether from the results table or its marker on the map, opens a detail view with everything Deal Search knows about that property: photos, price history, tax history, and environmental factors, organized under four tabs.

Open a property's detail view

  • In the Deal Search Results table, select a property's photo or its address to open the detail view directly.
  • On the map, select a property's marker to open a small preview with its photo, price, and address. Select the photo in that preview to open the same full detail view.

The header

At the top of the view: the property's street address, then its city, state, and ZIP code below.

If the property was listed recently, or its price has been cut since it was listed, a badge appears next to the address: NEW or REDUCED. Only one shows at a time. A REDUCED badge means the price has changed since listing; check the Property History tab below for the date and amount.

Photos

Below the header, a photo gallery shows the property's listing photos, one at a time, with a counter (for example "1 / 2") showing your position. If there's more than one photo, arrows appear over the image so you can move between them, or use the left and right arrow keys.

Not every listing has photos. If none are available, the gallery is skipped and the view goes straight to the tabs below.

Overview

The Overview tab is what you land on first. It shows:

  • List Price and Price per Sq Ft. If the property already sold, this shows Sold Price and the sale date instead.
  • Property Details: Type, Year Built, Days on Market, Bedrooms, Bathrooms, Square Feet, and Lot Size.

Use it to confirm the basics match what you expected from the search results before you dig further.

Property History

Select the Property History tab for a table of the listing's price events: Date, Event, Price, Change from the prior entry, and $/Sq Ft at that price.

This is where a REDUCED badge gets its context: look for the most recent row with a negative Change to see when the price dropped and by how much. A property with more than one price cut is worth asking why it hasn't sold.

If Deal Search has no price history for the property, the tab shows "No price history available".

Tax History

Select the Tax History tab for a year-by-year table: Year, Annual Taxes, Assessment, and Land Value.

Tip

The most recent Annual Taxes figure is a reasonable starting point for the property tax field when you run the numbers on this property in Deal Analyzer.

If no tax history is available for the property, the tab shows "No tax history available".

Environmental factors

Select the Environmental tab for two sections, when data is available:

  • Flood Risk: a severity badge, a short sentence on whether the property's flood risk is trending up, down, or holding steady, and a note on whether flood insurance is federally required, sometimes with a sample quote range.
  • Noise Assessment: ratings for Airport, Traffic, Local, and Overall noise.

The tab notes that this data is "provided by realtor.com where available", so not every property has it. If neither flood nor noise data is available, the tab shows "No environmental data available" instead.

Note

Flood insurance and noise are easy to overlook until after closing. Worth a glance here before you commit time to running the numbers on a property.

Save the property or move on

At the bottom of the view:

  • Add to Prospects (or Already Added to Prospects, if you've already saved it) adds the property to your My Prospects tab in Deal Search. See Search for properties for what happens after you select it.
  • Close, either the button at the bottom or the X in the top corner, returns you to your search results.
